Are you looking for a new position within Nursery Management? If so, this may be the role for you!

This Hampton based Pre-School requires a reliable, personable and experienced Pre-School and Holiday Club Deputy Manager to assist with managing the day-to-day running of their setting and lead their team.

The setting provides care for up to 28 children aged 2 – 4 years old. This role is 35 hours a week for 38 weeks and is operational 8:45am – 2:30pm, with an early finish at 12pm on Fridays. You will also be expected to work 40 hours a week during the holiday periods, assisting with managing the Holiday Club with occasional weekend work.

This role will be shadowing and supporting the General Manager and then taking over their duties in their absence – whilst ensuring that the Pre-School standards meet Ofsted requirements.

Your day-to-day role will include;

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development

  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment

  • Checking orders for equipment and resources, prior to orders being placed

  • Acting in place of the Manager in their absence

  • Supporting the Manager to recruit and induct staff

  • Conducting Annual Performance reviews/probation reviews

  • Supporting the Manager with creating and managing rotas, audits, staff cover, and absence for sickness and annual leave

  • Completing health and safety checks on a daily basis

  • General office administration duties

  • Show prospective parents around promoting the benefits of the Nursery

A successful candidate must have the following;

  • Relevant managerial experience

  • A Childcare and Education qualification NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

  • Minimum of 1 years’ post-qualifying experience working with children aged 0-5 years

  • Excellent knowledge & practice of the EYFS Framework, OFSTED Early Years Inspection Requirements

  • Able to proficiently use IT systems; including working with databases, Microsoft office, email, internet

  • Excellent knowledge of Safeguarding and Welfare issues concerning children

  • Passion for working with babies and children

  • Enthusiastic attitude and sound knowledge towards child development for children aged 0-5 years

  • Good planning and organisational skills in order to manage a busy and varied workload
