Early Years Deputy Manager needed in Lewisham
StaffBank are recruiting on behalf of a nursery in Lewisham to find a Deputy Manager to join their team. This setting is open for 51 weeks of the year, from Monday to Friday, from 07.30 -18.00 and caters for up to 53 children aged 3 months to 4 years. The Nursery is situated in a large community premises attached to a Church and is equipped with age-appropriate toys and has an enclosed outdoor garden. The Setting is easily accessible and has great transport links.
This role is to provide professional leadership and management of the nursery. As Deputy Nursery Manager you will be effectively managing the day-to-day running of this Lewisham setting alongside the Nursery Manager and to deliver the highest standards of care and education, compliance with all regulatory requirements and to ensure the staff feel supported in their roles. You will be responsible for maintaining children’s records, ordering equipment, maintaining inventories and keeping personnel records. You will be overseeing the planning, delivery and monitoring of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

Your role will include:
· Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
· Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
· Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
· Implementing the EYFS curriculum and leading planning meetings
· Providing exciting activities for all the children
· Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children, daily records/accident forms
· Working effectively in a team, assisting and supporting other staff within the setting
· Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
· Following the Nursery policies and procedures throughout the setting
· Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
· Attending parent and staff meetings
· Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s
· Being flexible within their role, supporting the setting where required, as well as contributing to domesticated chores within the setting
All candidates must have:
· An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
· At least 2 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
· The ability to work within a large team
· Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS/Foundation Stage
· Great communication skills
