​Early Years Room Leader needed in Peckham

StaffBank are recruiting on behalf of a nursery in Peckham to find a Room Leader for their Toddler Room. This setting is open for 51 weeks of the year, from Monday to Friday, from 07.30 -18.00 and caters for up to 48 children aged 3 months to 5 years. The Nursery is situated in a large building and is equipped with age-appropriate toys and has an enclosed outdoor garden. The Setting is easily accessible and has great transport links. There are extra activities such as Spanish lessons.

Your role will include:

·         Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development

·         Providing high quality care for the children within the setting

·         Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents

·         Implementing the EYFS curriculum and leading planning meetings

·         Providing exciting activities for all the children

·         Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children, daily records/accident forms

·         Working effectively in a team, assisting and supporting other staff within the setting

·         Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians

·         Following the Nursery policies and procedures throughout the setting

·         Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment

·         Attending parent and staff meetings

·         Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s

·         Being flexible within their role, supporting the setting where required, as well as contributing to domesticated chores within the setting

All candidates must have:

·         An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent

·         At least 2 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting

·         The ability to work within a large team

·         Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS/Foundation Stage

·         Great communication skills
