Experienced Nursery Room Leader – Blackheath

This amazing new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nursery Room Leader in Pre-School in an Outstanding Blackheath Day Nursery and Forest School. The setting is operational for 51 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday and is open from 8:00am-6:00pm and takes children from 3 months to 5 years with up to 40 children on roll. The setting is situated near great train/bus transport links and local amenities in Blackheath. Each room is equipped with age-appropriate resources which enhance the children’s learning journey, inside and outdoors. The Nursery specialises in music and drama activities and also offers Mandarin.


As Nursery Room Leader in Pre-School you will be effectively managing the day-to-day running of room alongside the Nursery staff and will deliver the highest standards of care and education, be compliant with all regulatory requirements and ensure the staff feel supported in their roles. You will be responsible for maintaining children’s records and keeping personnel records. You will be overseeing the planning, delivery and monitoring of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

All candidates must have:

·         A minimum of a Level 3 in Childcare & Education or equivalent

·         Previous experience essential

·         Ability to lead, manage and inspire a team successfully together with good interpersonal skills

·         Experience dealing with Ofsted & be comfortable with legislation

·         Excellent verbal & written communication skills

·         Enthusiasm, self motivation & ability to work on your own initiative and be a good team player

·         Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, Child Protection & Safeguarding
