Room Leader needed in Caterham

We are recruiting on behalf of a ‘Good’ day Nursery based in Caterham who are currently looking for an experienced Room Leader to join their team. The setting caters for 53 children aged 0 to 5 years and are operational Monday to Friday 08:00 – 18:00, 51 weeks per year. They have three age appropriate rooms with outdoor space for physical activities and a separate area for their under 2’s.

The position will be working with children aged 3-5 years old within Pre-school. You will be in charge of 2 members of staff in addition to being responsible for 12 key children. This job will require you to run the room to a high standard whilst supporting your team. As well as caring for the children and recording their development.

This position requires you to:

  • ·         Ensure all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development

  • ·         Provide high quality care for the children within the setting

  • ·         Build and maintain good relationships with children and parents, attending parent and staff meetings

  • ·         Implement the EYFS curriculum, completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children

  • ·         Support children with additional needs and IEP’s

A successful candidates must have the following:

  • ·         A minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent

  • ·         The ability to work well in a team

  • ·         Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, Ofsted & Safeguarding

  • ·         Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • ·         Outstanding time keeping and attendance record

  • ·         A positive & friendly nature
