Private Day Nursery in Surbiton are looking for an experienced Baby Room Leader to join their team. The Nursery operates Monday to Friday 08:00 – 18:00 and is open for 51 weeks of the year.

The setting is situated within a large converted house comprising of two levels and caters for children aged 3 months to 5 years old. The Nursery prides itself on making sure that the children in their care are given the best start in life by ensuring children feel safe and secure. Each of their four rooms are designed to enable the children to learn through their play whilst giving them independence and confidence. All activities are designed around the Early Years Curriculum enabling children to reach their full potential and next steps in their development.

The Nursery are looking for a proactive Baby Room Leader to join their well-established team. You will be responsible for supporting other members of staff and ensuring the children reach their next steps within their development, as well as looking after and caring for key children your own.

Your role will include:

  • Providing high quality care for all children
  • Planning exciting and age appropriate activities
  • Observing the children’s development and planning their next steps
  • Maintaining children’s records ensuring Progress Checks are carried out
  • Working alongside the management team
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the room
  • Managing and supporting other staff members within the room
  • Supporting parents through the weaning process
  • Supporting parents with any queries or concerns
  • Following the Nurseries policies and procedures
  • Carrying out risk assessments throughout the nursery

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or Equivalent
  • Experience of working with children under 2 years old
  • The desire to develop their career and a passion to work with children
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum
  • Good understand of Safeguarding Policies and Procedures
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
