StaffBank are recruiting on behalf of a nursery in Streatham to find an enthusiastic and motivated Deputy Manager and also a Room Leader to join their fun and friendly team.  The role is working 3-5 days per week and offers a competitive salary. Other benefits include a Pension Scheme and one week off at Christmas.

This Nursery is situated in Streatham and they are looking for a Deputy Manager and a Room Leader for the Baby Room to start as soon as possible and join their team of dedicated staff.  It is open Monday to Friday from 08:00 -18:00, 51 weeks of the year for children aged 6 months - 5 years and caters for up to 43 children a day. Extra curricular activities include tennis, football and French lessons. The children grow their own fruit and vegetables in the garden and these are used to make their healthy and nutritious meals.

The Nursery is easily accessible by bus and train and is close to the local stations.  Positive relationships between parents and staff are encouraged at all times to ensure they maintain a positive co-operative environment for the best interests of the children.  You will need to ensure the children are given the opportunity to carry out child led activities throughout their routine using the EYFS curriculum. 

Salary & benefits include:

  • £20,000 pa for Deputy Manager (depending on experience)

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the Nursery policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s


All candidates must have:

  • A minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Deputy is desired – with a Level 3
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, Ofsted & Safeguarding
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Outstanding time keeping and attendance record
  • A positive & friendly nature


Deputy Manager role will include:

Working 3-4 days a week

Being Office based

Supporting other staff in the nursery with EYFS & assisting with the paperwork

Assisting the management with daily duties

Supporting staff’s development

Carrying out risk assessments throughout the nursery

Reporting any relevant information to the Nursery Manager

Ensuring the ratios are adhered to at all times


Room Leader will include:

Working in the Baby/Toddler room

Working 5 days a week

Having 3-5 key children

Being confident and have experience with babies

Being flexible to the needs of the nursery

Working closely within a large team
