Job Description

This nursery situated in Kilburn is looking for an experienced Nursery Nurse to join their team. The nursery is operational Monday-Friday, 08:00 – 18:00 for 49 weeks of the year they cater for 27 children ages 3 months – 5 years.

The nursery is situated close to Kilburn Station, it is set within a bright and spacious church hall with stimulating displays aimed at all ages groups, there is a large enclosed play area for the children to explore the outdoors. Staff support children in their development by planning age appropriate focused activities and children are given opportunities to learn and explore in a safe and secure environment.

The position will be working with children aged 18 months to 3 years, they are looking for a dynamic, committed and experienced team member.  Your role will include being a key worker for a small group of children, ensuring the planning and implementation of educational activities through the EYFS curriculum. Working as part of a team and building partnership with parents and carers is paramount.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Ensuring that children are cared for in a happy and safe environment
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Planning stimulating activities for key children
  • Building and maintaining excellent relationships with all children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Writing six monthly progress reports
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s
  • Encouraging children with their early stage of physical development
  • Carrying out nappy changes & supporting with toilet training
  • Supporting children with the early stages of sensory activities providing different opportunities
  • Spending 1:1 time with your key children to build relationships
  • Supporting children at meal times
  • Encouraging independence skills

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Great communication skills
  • The ability to work within a large team
  • Experience of working in accordance with Ofsted and EYFS standards.
