Job Description

Private Day Nursery in Redhill are currently seeking an experienced qualified Childcare Practitioner to join their experienced team. The Setting is open 51 weeks a year, 07:30 – 18:30 and cater for up to 75 children aged between 3 months – 5 years.

The Nursery ensures that they support all the children’s individual needs with priorities being placed on physical, emotional, intellectual and social wellbeing development. The setting has three large rooms for each age group and access to two outdoor areas to promote free flow play and outdoor learning.

This will be a full time position working 3-4 days a weeks 07:30 – 6:30. You will be responsible for key children, ensuring that all folders and observations are accurately completed on a daily basis. You will also need to ensure all the children’s individual needs are met at all times and ensuring they meet their developmental milestones.

Your role will include:

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with all children, parents and staff
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Understanding each child’s individual needs and dietary requirements
  • Working in partnership with the parents and discussing their child’s progress
  • Supporting the other staff and any students within the room
  • Carrying out weekly planning to enable the children to progress in their development
  • Completing observations on all the children in line with the EYFS curriculum
  • Planning their next steps within their learning
  • Providing educational activities for the children
  • Assisting with nappy changes and toilet training
  • Ensuring the nurseries policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the nursery
  • Participating in staff and parent meetings
  • Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s
  • Preparing the older children for Pre-School, as their day will be more structured ready for school

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 2/3 or a Graduates Degree in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least one years’ experience within an Early Years Setting
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal
