Job Description

We are working with an OUTSTANDING childminders based within a Nursery setting. The setting is looking for an experienced dynamic Level 2 & Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join the team.  The setting is operational 50 weeks of the year Monday-Friday, 07:30 – 18:30 and caters for 38 children 0 – 5 years old.

The setting is situated in an ideal location in Thornton Heath and offers an OUTSTANDING service. The setting and you as the Early Years Practitioner will aim to deliver high quality learning and care through play, supporting children giving them the best possible start in life. The setting is separated into 3 rooms a baby room where babies are encouraged to develop their sensory skills and start of physical development, Toddler Room children build on their social skills and a Pre-school room where children are given support in become independent learners and more of a structured day and focus on building readiness for school. It has a spacious outdoor area for children to explore with well-equipped environment.

Your role as the Early Years practitioner L2 will be working with all ages of children supporting them in their development. You will be a keyworker for a group of children monitoring their development keeping up to date records and learning journals. You as the Early Years practitioner will need to be able to help with the planning and implementation of the EYFS curriculum and set up educational play experiences. The Level 3 practitioner will be based in the baby room your role as the Early Years practitioner will be to support the babies with personal care routines of feeding and changing

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 years post qualifying work experience as a Nursery Practitioner within an Early Years setting
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS & statutory requirements
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • The ability to work a part of a team
