Job Description

Outstanding Montessori School situated in Pinner is currently looking for a qualified Montessori Teacher to join their Pre-School Room. The nursery is operational 52 weeks a year and they are open Monday – Friday 08:00 – 18:00. The setting caters for 75 children a day aged between 3 months to 5 years old.

The setting is situated within a large converted building and has been newly refurbished enabling the growth of the nursery. They ensure all the children are reaching their highest potential, while using the EYFS curriculum and the Montessori Method. They have spacious rooms which are all age appropriate for the children to learn and develop at their own pace. They have a large garden for all the children to enjoy while learning about the environment and developing their communication skills with children of varied ages.

The position will be working with children aged 3 – 5 years old within their Pre-School Room. Your role will be to ensure the children are aware of the Montessori Method and supporting them with their development. You will be responsible for up to 6 key children and will need ensure they are given the opportunity to carry out child led activities throughout their routine.

Your role will include:

  • Building and maintaining excellent relationships with the children, parents and staff
  • Supporting the team within the room with the Montessori Method
  • Ensuring the children reach their highest potential at all times
  • Providing a safe and stimulating environment
  • Implementing both the EYFS curriculum and Montessori Method
  • Completing observation, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures
  • Maintaining a clean environment and teaching the children about cleanliness of the setting
  • Carrying out risk assessments in the room and garden
  • Attending staff and parent meetings
  • Supporing children with additional needs
  • Preparing the children for school
  • Supporting their fine and gross motor skills
  • Developing their writing skills

All candidates must have:

  • A Montessori Diploma is desired
  • At least an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least one years experience within an Early Years setting
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS & Montessori
  • The ability to work well within a large team
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
