Job Description

Brand new Nursery situated in Edenbridge are currently seeking a Nursery Manager to join their expanding team. The Setting is open 51 weeks of the year Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 18:30 and caters for up to 70 children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The Nursery is located in a converted office building and has recently been completely refurbished to offer large, bright and well equipped rooms. The Setting has 3 age based rooms as well as a separate sleep room for the younger children and promote free flow play with access to their own private garden. The older children also have the opportunity to go on local educational trips and local businesses and emergency services are regularly invited in to come and talk to the children about safety awareness and their community.

The Nursery are currently looking for a Nursery Manager to lead, support and develop their current team. They are currently looking for someone who can work independently and build strong relationships with the parents, children and staff.

Your role will include:

  • Providing high quality care for all the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with all children, parents and staff
  • Leading and supporting the staff throughout their daily routine
  • Understanding and working to policies about Keeping Children Safe, Equal Opportunities, Data Protection and Confidentiality
  • Working in partnership with the owner to develop the nursery
  • Taking sole charge of running the nursery
  • Ensuring the ratios are met at all times
  • Carrying out staff appraisals monthly
  • Supporting the current parents with any queries
  • Ensuring the EYFS Curriculum is promoted and delivered within the setting and the principles adhered to
  • Ordering and maintaining equipment & resources
  • Ensuring the setting is clean, safe and welcoming for families and staff
  • Contributing to the strategic planning, monitoring, evaluation and development of the nursery
  • Showing new parents around the nursery and supporting their child’s induction process
  • Meeting the Ofsted requirements for the nursery
  • Implementing policies and procedures
  • Working with outside agencies such as Ofsted, Health Visitors, Social Services, Early Years and Special Educational needs Specialists

 

All candidates must have:

  • A minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least two years experience within an Early Years setting
  • Previous Manager or Deputy Manager experience
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
  • An understanding of the Ofsted requirements and regulations
  • A passionate and positive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
