Job Description

This well established nursery situated in Greenford is looking for a Room Leader and Nursery Nurse to join their Toddler Room. The nursery is operational 52 weeks of the year. They are open Monday - Friday 08:00 - 18:00 and cater for up to 100 children aged between 3 months - 5 years.

The nursery is situated within a large purpose built setting and has five main play rooms for the children to enjoy. The setting ensures that they support all the children’s individual needs and help them to reach their highest potential throughout their learning and development. The setting has two rooms for children 3 - 5 years old, two rooms for children aged 2 - 3 years old and one room for the under 2’s. They also have a large outdoor play area for all the children along with an outdoor classroom enabling the children to continue their age appropriate activities outside.

These positions will be working with children aged 2 - 3 years old within the Toddler Room. As a Room Leader you will need to ensure that the room is run to a high standard and assisting the other staff within the room. As a Nursery Nurse you will need to maintain a high level of care for all the children and developing their learning throughout. You will both be responsible for up to 4 key children and need to ensure the children are reaching their developmental milestones at all times.

Your role will include:

  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum and planning exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the room
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Carrying out two year old checks as and when required
  • Supporting the children with nappy changes and toilet training
  • Developing each child’s fine motor skills and hand eye co-ordination

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • Room Leader: Needs previous experience within this role and be able to lead a small team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Great communication skills
  • The ability to work within a large team
