Job Description

Nursery situated in Ealing is currently looking for a Nursery Nurse to join their Toddler Room. The nursery is operational 51 weeks of the year, closed for the Christmas break. They are open Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 18:30 and cater for up to 70 children aged between 3 months – 5 years old.

The nursery is situated within a large building and has two floors for the different ages. One level is for the babies, which has several rooms providing various activities in each room allowing the children to meet their developmental needs. They also have a dedicated sleep room for this age group ensuring they are able to rest away from the older children. The second floor is separated for the Toddlers and Pre-School children and has a variety of age appropriate activities for the children to enjoy. The children play together as well as having their own focused activities in their own rooms. There is also a large outdoor play area with soft flooring and large play equipment for children to use and develop their imagination.

The position will be working with children aged 2 - 3 year olds within their Toddler Room ensuring the children meet their milestones throughout their learning. You will be responsible for 4 key children and will help to develop the children’s fine motor skills and allow them to explore their imagination and creativity.

Your role will include:

  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children, staff and parents
  • Providing high quality care for all the children within the setting
  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Completing observations and planning the children’s next steps
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum throughout the children’s learning
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the room
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures
  • Completing risk assessments throughout the setting
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment at all times
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Carrying out 2 year checks
  • Introducing some specific areas to prepare them for Pre-School
  • Supporting their hand eye coordination and fine motor skills
  • Nappy changing and potty training

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Great communication and organisation skills
  • The ability to work well within a large team
