Job Description

This large nursery situated in Weybridge is looking for a Nursery Nurse to join their Pre-School. The nursery is operational 51 weeks of the year, closed over the Christmas break. They are open Monday – Friday 07:00 – 19:00 and cater for up to 75 children aged between 3 months – 5 years.

The nursery is situated within a large refurbished building and has been dedicated to ensuring the children reach their highest potential. The setting has four spacious rooms over two floors for the children to enjoy. The Babies are on one floor with an open plan feel to the rooms and dedicated areas for the younger babies. The Toddlers and Pre-School are on the top floor with separate rooms allowing them to learn and develop at their own pace with age appropriate activities. They have a large garden enabling the children to explore the outside and also have extra curricular activities provided by outside companies on a weekly basis.  

The position will be working with children aged 3 – 5 years old within their Pre-School and ensuring the children reach their developmental milestones through their learning and development. You will be responsible for 8 key children and you will ensure the children are developing in line with the EYFS curriculum.

Your role will include:

  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Planning exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations and planning the children’s next steps
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments throughout the setting
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s
  • Preparing the children for school
  • Developing their writing skills
  • Using phonics on a daily basis

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • The ability to work well within a team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal
