StaffBank are recruiting on behalf of an Outstanding nursery in Mitcham to find an enthusiastic and motivated nursery nurse to join their fun and friendly team. As well as an amazing salary they have many other benefits including a 28 days holiday, lunch provided, company pension and much more.

This Outstanding Nursery is looking for a Level 2 or Level 3 Practitioner to join their team.  The setting is operational for 50 weeks of the year and is open Monday to Friday, from 08.00 -18.00 (35hrs a week) and caters for up to 50 children aged 3 months to 5 years.  The Nursery is situated in a large detached two-storey house and is equipped with age-appropriate toys.  The Setting is easily accessible and has great transport links and parking is available.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum Method and attending planning meetings
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children, daily records/accident forms
  • Plans and evaluation should be shared regularly through ‘touch base’ each week
  • Working effectively in a team, discussing ideas & plans with each other & the Officer in Charge  
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the Nursery policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s
  • Being flexible within their role, supporting the setting where required, as well as contributing to domesticated chores within the setting
  • Strong emphasis on the 3 main areas of learning


All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 2 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • The ability to work within a large team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS/Foundation Stage
  • Great communication skills
