Job Description

This home from home nursery based in Walthamstow, is currently recruiting for a dynamic self-motivated Nursery Nurse to join their close team. The Nursery is open Monday to Friday 07:30 – 18:30, currently 12 children a day with a current expansion which will expect 30 children. The setting is split into 2 rooms 1 room for babies, 3 months to 2 years and the other room 2 years to 5 years.   

The Nursery is situated in a small residential area in Walthamstow it has 2 play room split in to age groups all children have access to a spacious outside garden area. Children are supported in their learning and development through the EYFS activities and play opportunities that are planned in accordance to children own interests and needs.

The position as a Nursery Nurse will be based in the Baby / Toddler room working within a small team. Your role will include being a key worker for a group of children, planning, observations and assessing them through the EYFS and keeping a record of their learning journal.  You will need to have experience working with babies and toddlers, and an understanding of how to support them with feeding, changing and toilet training. You will need to build positive trusting relationships with the babies, toddlers and their families.

All Candidate must have:

  • A Minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Child Care & Education or equivalent
  • At least 2 years’ experience of working within an Early Years setting
  • Excellent Knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum and Safeguarding
  • Excellent Knowledge of Ofsted Regulations and inspection Criteria
  • An awareness of Health & Safety legislation & Equal Opportunities
  • A passion for working with the under-fives
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • The ability to use your own initiative
  • A good understanding of all nursery duties
  • The ability to work in partnership with parents
  • Be able to work well within a team
  • Be enthusiastic & energetic
  • Be able to work independently
