Job Description

Nursery situated in Edgware is looking for part time Nursery Nurses to join their team. The Nursery is operational term time only. They are open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 08:00 – 15:00 and Wednesday 12:00 – 15:00 and cater for up to 22 children aged between 2 – 4 years old.

The setting is purpose built and based on one level. It has two class rooms which are designed around the Children’s interests allowing them to explore and learn through play to reach their highest potential. The children enjoy extra-curricular activities such as Music and Movement classes, cookery lessons and regular visits to the Library. The children have free flow to the outdoor area where they have their own vegetable patch and explore their natural environment.

The positions will be working with children aged 2-5 years old working 28 hours a week. You will need to make sure the paperwork and learning journeys for your key children are completed, you will ensure they are provided with a range of activities which enables them to develop and progress towards their Early Learning Goals and assist the other staff to ensure the room is run to a high standard.

Your role will include:

  • Providing high quality care for the children within the Nursery
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children, parents and staff
  • Implementing the EYFS Curriculum daily
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the Nurseries policies and procedures throughout the Nursery
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Ensuring Hygiene standards are kept to a high level at all times
  • Completing daily risk assessment indoors and out
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Completing 2 year checks
  • Assisting and supporting the children at meal times
  • Preparing the children for the transition to school
  • Developing the Children’s writing and Listening Skills
  • Ensuring Hygiene standards are kept to a high level at all times
  • Completing daily risk assessment indoors and out





All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 years relevant Early Years experience
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS & Safeguarding
  • Good verbal and written communication
