Job Description

Nursery situated in Teddington is looking for a Nursery Nurse to join their Baby room. The nursery is operational 51 weeks of the year, closed over the Christmas break. They are open Monday – Friday 07:30 – 18:30 and cater for up to 58 children aged between 3 months – 5 years.

The nursery is situated within a large converted building split into three age appropriate rooms over two floors, with the under twos on the first floor and the older children in the larger rooms on the ground floor. Each room is set up with a variety of age appropriate activities to ensure each child has the best opportunity to learn throughout their stages of development. The nursery is committed to nurturing each childs imagination and creativity through praise and building strong relationships with both the children and parents. The setting also benefits from an enclosed outdoor area and are local to a small park so the children can enjoy regular outings. 

The position will be working with children aged 3 months – 2 years old within the Baby Room, ensuring that the room is run to a high standard and assisting the other staff within the room. The Baby Room can have up to 9 children in the room, you will be responsible for up to 4 key children and need to ensure that all paperwork is completed for each child.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Nappy Changing
  • Supporting the youngest children and parents with weaning
  • Developing their Physical development by supporting with crawling and walking
  • Carrying out sensory activities

 

 

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and Safeguarding
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal
