Nursery Nurse needed in Fulham

This nursery situated in Fulham is looking for a Nursery Nurse to join their Toddler team. The nursery is operational for 51 weeks of the year, closing for all the Bank Holidays and the Christmas break. They are open Monday – Friday 08:00 – 18:00 with optional early drop off at 7:30 and late pick up at 18:30. They cater for up to 70 children aged between 3 months – 5 years old.

The setting is within a converted Victorian house and is split into five rooms across two levels all catering for a specific age group; 3months to 1 years, 1 years -18 months, 18 months -2years, 2 -3 years old and 3 – 5 five years old. All rooms have resources designed for the appropriate age groups to enhance their development and learning through play.  The nursery has an outdoor space with large equipment for all age groups to explore. The children are able to take part in extra-curricular activities Dance, Music, Sports and Language lessons.   

The position will be working within the Toddler team with children aged 18 months – 2 years working within a team of 5 members of staff, ensuring that the Toddler Room is run to a high standard. You will be responsible for 4 Key Children and you will need to monitor their progress in line with the EYFS.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with the children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum at all times
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the room
  • Attending parent evenings and staff meetings
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Providing various activities to develop their Physical development; walking and climbing
  • Doing regular nappy changes
  • Providing exciting sensory activities for the children through messy play and using natural materials in treasure baskets
  • Developing the children’s fine and gross motor skills; mark-making, building towers, peg puzzles, shape sorters, climbing steps
  • Developing the children’s language and communication through singing nursery rhymes and reading books

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • The ability to work well within a small team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Great communication skills
  • The ability to work within a large team
