Are you an enthusiastic and self-motivated Nursery Nurse or Nursery Assistant? Then we have the perfect job for you!

 

Well established Nursery in Wimbledon is looking for Nursery Nurse or Nursery Assistant Level 2 to join their friendly team starting as maternity cover with the possibility of a permanent role. The setting is operational Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 18:00 and Friday 08:00 – 13:00 and caters for 46 children aged 2 to 4 year old for 51 weeks of the year.

The Pre-School is fully equipped with a spacious room divided into different areas for all children to explore in a free flow environment. Each area is reflective of the Early Years Curriculum providing rich, stimulating activities to ensure that the children reach their next steps and early learning goals. All children have access to the large outdoor area, which is equipped with soft astro turf to create different textures to explore and play in that extend children’s development further.

You role will include:

  • Engaging with children in the different daily activities both inside and out
  • Supporting outside play in the garden
  • Carrying out fun engaging age appropriate activities in preparation for school
  • Supporting children during meal and snack times making sure children practice good hygiene
  • Observing children and recording their development for all children’s profiles as well as your key children
  • Writing reports on the children’s development and next steps
  • Helping and supporting children with self-independence
  • Addressing the children’s personal care routines
  • Supporting staff and main room leader in the daily running of the room
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Liaising with parents and carers on a daily basis with feedback about their child’s day

All candidate must have:

  • An NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • The desire to develop their career
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum and Safeguarding
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
