Nursery Nurse needed in Egham

This nursery situated in Egham is looking for a Nursery Nurse to join their team. The nursery is operational for 51 weeks of the year, closing for all the Bank Holidays and Christmas break. They are open Monday – Friday 07:15 – 18:30.

The nursery is based in a quiet village and is set back away from the main road. The setting was originally a house which has since been renovated and has recently opened as a nursery. The nursery rooms are based over two floors with the Pre-School on the top floor and the Toddler and Baby Room on the ground floor. All rooms have age appropriate resources which enables the staff to provide a high standard of educational and exciting activities to develop the children’s learning. The rooms have access to a large outdoor space with a separate garden area for the Baby Room.

The position will be working within the Toddler Room with children aged 2 years – 3 years old working within a team of 3 members of staff, ensuring that the Toddler Room is run to a high standard. You will be responsible for 3 Key Children and you will need to monitor their progress in line with the EYFS.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with the children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum at all times
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Attending parents evening and staff meetings
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Completing Two Year Check’s for your Key children to a high standard
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Assisting & supporting the children and parents during Potty Training
  • Doing regular nappy changes
  • Effective team work within Toddler room to ensure the room runs smoothly
  • Developing the children’s sensory exploration through sand, water and messy play activities
  • Using effective teaching to a high standard to develop their communication skills
  • Introducing the children to different celebrations and cultures from around the world 
  • Developing the children’s fine and gross motor skills; mark making, building towers, running games etc
  • Helping the younger children to settle into the Toddler room through exciting and new activities

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • The ability to work well within a small team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Great communication skills
  • The ability to work within a large team
