Job Description

Pre-school situated in Kingsbury is looking for a Nursery Nurse to join their Toddler Room. The Preschool is operational 51 weeks of the year, closed over the Christmas break. They are open Monday to Friday from 08:00 till 18:00 and cater for up to 28 children aged 18 months – 4 years.

The Pre-school is in a converted building which has been operational since 2016. It is open plan with all the areas set out clearly. They aim to help each child meet their full potential, academically, socially and emotionally and they believe that if children feel happy and secure, they will learn and grow as individuals. They also have extra curriculum activities such as visits from animals, sports activities and dance.

This position will be working with all age groups within Pre-school. You will responsible for 7 key children completing all paperwork and building strong bonds with each child. You will be working with a team off staff ensuring all children reach their highest potential within the setting.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Providing exciting activities and opportunities for all the children
  • Supporting all other staff in Preschool
  • Discussing the children progress with their parents and carers
  • Following nursery policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments in the nursery and garden
  • Attending all staff meetings
  • Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s
  • Supporting both parents and children during settling period
  • Supporting and encouraging potty training also changing nappies
  • Developing fine motor skills with various activities
  • Ensuring routines within the preschool are followed
  • Support children with their at letter and number writing
  • Completing 2 year old checks


All candidates must have: 

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least one years’ experience within an Early Years setting
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and Safeguarding
  • To work well as a team
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal
