Job Description

Brand new nursery situated in Roehampton is looking for a Nursery Nurse to join their toddler room. The nursery is operational 49 weeks of the year and is closed a week over Easter, Summer and Christmas. They are open Monday-Friday 08:00-18:00 and cater for 57 children aged between 1-5 years.

The nursery is situated within a large building and has recently been opened as a nursery. The Toddler room provides lots of age appropriate resources and separate areas that enables a lot of opportunity for the children to explore, the children also participate in Dance, Music and Language lessons.

The position is working with children ages 18 months to 3 years old within the Toddler room, which caters for 23 children a day. You will need to ensure that that the children reach their developmental milestones through their learning and development and accompany the Forest School leader on their week’s lessons to the local park.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Potty training and nappy changing
  • Completing daily diaries on what the children have been doing
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Completing 2 year checks
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Encouraging mark making, messy play and assisting in developing early language skills



All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 2 years relevant experience within the Early years setting
  • The ability to work in a team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Experience with potty training and nappy changing
  • Great communication skills
