Job Description

Private Day Nursery in Sevenoaks are currently looking for an enthusiastic and committed Nursery Nurse to join their Baby Room team as soon as possible! The setting is open 51 weeks of the year, Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 18:30 and closed over the Christmas Break. They cater for up to 42 children aged between 3 months and 5 years with up to 16 children in the Baby Room.

The setting has a Main room for the 2-5’s as well as two Baby Rooms for the under 2’s. The childrens interests are at the heart of everything that is planned to ensure exciting and inspirational activities to help each child reach their full potential.

The position will be working with children aged 3 months to 2 years and you will be responsible for up to 10 key children ensuring that all planning and observations are completed on a regular basis. You will need to be able to build strong relationships with children, parents and staff and deliver a consistently high level of care. You along with the help of your team will be responsible for the effective delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage especially the Prime area.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the room
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Following nappy changing routines
  • Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s


All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • The ability to lead a small team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Great communication skills
  • The ability to work within a large team
