Job Description

This newly opened nursery situated in Weybridge is looking for a Nursery Nurse to join their Toddler Room. The nursery is operational 51 weeks of the year, closed over the Christmas break. They are open Monday – Friday 07:00 – 19:00 and cater for up to 70 children aged between 3 months – 5 years.

The nursery is situated within a large old building and has recently been opened as a nursery, the setting has spacious rooms enabling the children to reach their highest potential throughout their learning and development while ensuring their individual needs are met at all times. The setting has three large rooms which are age appropriate for the children to develop at their own pace. They also have additional rooms which enable the age groups to be split into smaller groups for focused activities. They have a large garden enabling the children to explore the outside together.

The position will be working with children aged 2 – 3 years old within their Toddler Room and ensuring the children reach their highest potential at all times throughout their learning and development. You will be responsible for 6 key children and you will ensure the routine is met at all time.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the room
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s
  • Assisting the children with toilet training
  • Developing their relationships with other children
  • Supporting the children with their hand-eye co-ordination & balance  

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • The ability to work well within a team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Great communication skills
  • The ability to work within a large team
