We are currently looking for a Nursery Nurse for a Nursery in Clapham

Well established Nursery in Clapham are looking for a passionate Nursery Nurse to join their expanding team. The setting is operational 51 weeks per year Monday to Friday 8:00am to 6:30pm and accommodate up to 45 children from birth to 5 years.

The Nursery is set in a purpose built property and has four rooms designed to cater to children’s different age ranges, where they are able to play and interact with their peers daily. Children are encouraged to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities throughout the week including sports and language clubs and mini beast hunts. The nursery also provides fresh meals every day and allows the children to get involved by planting and growing their own vegetables to be used in their meals. Children are also in encouraged to take part in the preparation of their meals and are all provided with their own placemats & chef hats. Staff teach the importance of food hygiene and support children with following step by step recipes, encouraging them to explore and taste new foods as they cook.

The Nursery are currently looking for a Nursery Nurse to join them in implementing the EYFS Curriculum and supporting children’s learning and development using creative and innovative ideas. You will responsible for up to 6 key children ensuring they are reaching their highest potential and meeting their developmental milestones.

Your role will include:

  • Encouraging and supporting children at meals times
  • Completing developmental reports
  • Providing high quality care for all children
  • Following nappy changing policies and procedures and completing nappy charts
  • Carrying out daily risk assessments
  • Handling and serving food
  • Planning exciting and age appropriate activities in line with the EYFS Curriculum
  • Managing dietary requirements in line with allergy policies
  • Following the room routine
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with children, parents and staff
  • Being a designated key person for a group of children
  • Providing daily feedback for parents and carers
  • Attending and taking part in parents evenings
  • Observing, planning and assessing to support and encourage children’s learning and development
  •  Following the nurseries policies and procedures at all times

 

 

All candidates must have:

  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
  • The ability to use your own initiative
  • A passion for working with children aged under 5 years old 
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • A drive to progress and develop your career
  • At least 1 year experience working within an Early Years setting  
  • A passion for providing children the opportunity
  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
