Nursery Nurses needed in Kennington


Well established nursery is Kennington are currently seeking a Nursery Nurse to join their experienced team. The setting is open 50 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday 08:00 – 18:00 and caters for up to 24 children aged between 6 months and 2 years.

The Nursery has been designed especially to cater for younger children with a large open plan room with its own messy area and carpeted area for those who are learning to crawl. The Setting prides themselves on providing high quality emotional and physical support for all the children in their care and build strong relationships with parents ensuring that they receive daily email updates on how their child is progressing.

This will be a full time position working with all ages 6 months to 2 years. You will be responsible for between 3 and 4 key children and will need to ensure that daily observations are carried out and feedback given to parents.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Caring for children recognising and catering for their individuality and in accordance with the settings policies and procedures
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum focusing on the prime areas of learning
  • Carrying out under two checks
  • Encouraging the children and motivating their learning
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Working alongside the Manager and staff to ensure that the vision, philosophy and objectives of the nursery are fulfilled
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy areas and ensuring books, toys and equipment are clean and in good order


All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Previous SENCO experience
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and Safeguarding
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal
