We are currently looking for a Nursery Nurse for a Nursery in Wimbledon

Well established Nursery in Wimbledon are currently recruiting for a Nursery Nurse to join their team. The nursery is operational 51 weeks per year, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 to 19:00 and caters for up to 54 children.

The Setting allows children of all ages to enjoy a full range of toys and activities together. This integrated approach means that children's are able to develop their personal, social & emotional skills at an advanced pace, with younger and older children learning from their peers. The Nursery also provides specialist furniture, toys and resources for the children including wood and metal materials, allowing children the experience of exploring and playing with natural resources. The garden has been specially designed to create a safe forest like atmosphere to promote learning and outdoor experiences.

This is a full time role for an experienced Nursery Nurse with a passion for working with children supporting their learning and development and providing exciting opportunities for them to progress and grow. You will be responsible for up to 6 key children, maintaining their individual learning journeys, liaising with parents, tracking, monitoring and reporting their progress.

Your role will include:

  • Following nappy changing policies and procedures and completing nappy charts
  • Handling and serving food
  • Encouraging and supporting children at meals times
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with children, parents and staff
  • Observing, planning and assessing to support and encourage children’s learning and development
  • Providing high quality care for all children
  • Planning exciting and age appropriate activities in line with the EYFS curriculum
  • Following the room routine
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures at all times
  • Carrying out daily risk assessments
  • Attending and taking part in parents evenings
  • Managing dietary requirements in line with allergy policies


All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 year experience working within an Early Years setting
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum
  • The ability to use your own initiative
  • A passion for working with children aged 3 months to 5 years old   
  • A drive to progress and develop your career
  • A passion for providing children the opportunity to learn and develop as they grow
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
