Job Description

Well established Nursery in Forest Hill are currently recruiting for Nursery Nurses and Nursery Assistants to join their dedicated and expanding team. The Setting is operational 51 weeks of the year, Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 18:00 and caters for up to 39 children aged between 6 months and 5 years.

The Nursery is situated within a large detached house and has been established for over 7 years. They have five age based rooms for the children to explore and develop in. The children also have a secure garden to enable them to experience the outdoors. All of these facilities enable the children to learn and develop at their own pace while following the EYFS curriculum.

The Setting are currently recruiting for both full time and part time positions working with children of all ages 6 months - 5 years. You will be responsible for up to 6 key children, ensuring their observations and folders are completed on a daily basis.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Caring for children recognising and catering for their individuality and in accordance with the settings policies and procedures
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum focusing on the prime areas of learning
  • Carrying out under two checks
  • Encouraging the children and motivating their learning
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Working alongside the Manager and staff to ensure that the vision, philosophy and objectives of the nursery are fulfilled
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the room
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy areas and ensuring books, toys and equipment are clean and in good order

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least one year’s recent experience within an Early Years Setting
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and Safeguarding
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal
