Job Description

Well established Day Nursery in Morden are currently recruiting for Nursery Nurses & Nursery Assistants to join their expanding team. The Setting is operational 52 week of the year, Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 18:00. And caters for up to 63 children aged between 3 months to 5 years.

The Nursery is based in a converted house and has been open for over 14 years. The Setting is separated into four aged based rooms each with stimulating age appropriate activities to ensure they support all the children’s individual needs. The Setting also benefits from having two large outdoor spaces for the Under Three’s and also Pre-Schoolers to help extend their learning and explore different environments.

The roles available are currently on a full time and part time basis working across all age groups. You will be responsible for up to 6 key children and will need to work in partnership with the other staff to ensure the children reach their highest potential throughout their development and ensure each child meets their development milestones.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the room
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Working with parents/carers of special needs children to give full integration in the Setting
  • Preparing and completing activities to suit each childs stage of development
  • Being prepared to help where needed throughout the nursery, including certain domestic tasks i.e preparation of meals and snacks
  • Ensuring all children are collected by someone known to the nursery
  • Keeping an accurate record of achievement file on your key children

 

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare & Education or equivalent
  • Previous experience of working with children aged 3 months – 5 years
  • Excellent working knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum & Safeguarding Policies
  • Great communication skills both written & verbal
