Job Description

Well-established Nursery based in Wandsworth are currently looking for a Nursery Nurse to join their Preschool room. The nursery is operational 51 weeks of the year & closed over Bank Holidays and between Christmas New Year’s break. They are open Monday to Friday 8-18:00 and cater for up to 85 children between 6 months to 5 years.

The nursery is based in Wandsworth in a newly built building. The children will benefit from having a team of very committed and highly supportive staff members who value the uniqueness of every child and help support them throughout their development.

The position will be working with children aged 2-3 within the Toddler Room ensuring that the room is run to a high standard working closely with other team members. You will be responsible for up to 4 key children supporting their needs, building up relationships with parents and staff members making sure you are creating a positive happy environment.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all children reach their highest potential
  • Providing high quality care for children within the setting
  • Implementing the EYFS Curriculum both prime and specific areas
  • Providing exciting activities for all children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the room
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures
  • Completing daily risk assessments within the rooms and garden
  • Ensuring children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Help supporting the children with meal times
  • Maintaining a clean safe environment for children
  • Plan activities according to a child’s developmental needs
  • Indoor and outdoor play activities


All candidates must have:

  • Either an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or equivalent
  • At least 1 years’ experience within a nursery setting
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and Safeguarding
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal
