Job Description

Well established Day Nursery in Chessington are currently seeking dedicated Nursery Nurses and Nursery Assistants to join their expanding team. The Setting is open 52 weeks of the year, Monday - Friday, 07:30-18:00 and caters for up to 56 children aged between 3 months - 5 years.

Developing early language & communication skills as well as building strong relationships with both children and parents are at the heart of the settings philosophy. The Nursery also ensures that they support all the children’s individual needs and help them to reach their highest potential throughout their learning and development.

The positions will be working with children of all ages and providing high quality care whilst ensuring the room is run to a high standard.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Following individual weaning plans
  • Completing two year checks
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the room
  • Attending parent and staff meetings

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare & Education or equivalent
  • At least one years previous experience within an Early Years setting
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good understanding of Safeguarding policies & procedures
