Job Description

Well established Day Nursery in Epsom are currently recruiting for Nursery Nurses and Nursery Assistants to join their expanding team. The setting is open 51 weeks of the year, Monday-Friday 08:00 - 18:00 and cater for up to 124 children aged between 3 months and 5 years.

The Setting is located in the heart of Epsom a short walk from the station in a large church building. The Nursery has four separate age based rooms each catering for the children’s learning and stages of development. The Nursery pride themselves on providing high quality emotional and physical support for all the children in their care and build strong relationships with parents.

This is a full time role working with all ages 3 months to 5 years, ensuring a high quality of care is provided at all times whilst ensuring the children reach their highest potential throughout their time at the nursery.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Following individual weaning plans
  • Completing two year checks
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the room
  • Attending parent and staff meetings

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare & Education or equivalent or at least one years previous experience within an Early Years setting
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good understanding of Safeguarding policies & procedures
