Job Description

A well-established Montessori Nursery situated in Pinner is looking for a Montessori teacher to join their team. The nursery is operational 52 weeks of the year. They are open Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 18:00, closed on bank holidays and cater for up to 75 children aged between 3 months – 5 years

The nursery is situated within a large house which has been converted to a nursery and has been established for over 7 years they aim to provide a wide range of opportunities for learning and development both with the EYFS Curriculum and Montessori Method.The setting has three rooms one for each age group.The Toddler room has 1 large room with a smaller room leading to an art/messy play room and a separate bathroom and changing area. The baby room is adjacent to the toddler room with a separate sleep room and changing room. The Pre-School is on the first floor which is separated into different areas to allow the children to learn through their own interests. They have a large garden for all age groups to explore the outside space and different environment, along with a separate garden space for young babies.

The position will be working with children aged 2-3 years old Monday – Friday 08:00 – 18:00 on a 40 hour rotational basis within the Toddler room. You will need to make sure the paperwork and learning journeys for your key children are completed to ensure they reach their individual developmental milestones, and provide a safe and stimulating environment for your key children to thrive through the activities you provide.

Your role will include:

  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children, parents and staff
  • Implementing the EYFS Curriculum and Montessori Method daily
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the Nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Completing daily risk assessments within the room and garden
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s
  • Completing 2 year checks
  • Nappy Changing and Potty training
  • Encouraging mark making, messy play and assisting in developing language skills
  • Assisting the children with learning to share, take turns and following instructions
  • Helping the younger children to settle into the Toddler room through exciting and new activities
  • Assisting the new parents with advise on the nursery routines and settling in



All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 2 years relevant Early Years experience
  • The ability to lead a team (Room leader only)
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS & Safeguarding
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • A Diploma in Montessori teaching is desired but not essential
