Job Description

New Day Nursery in Epsom is currently seeking Nursery Practitioners of all levels to join their team. The setting is open Monday - Friday 07:30-18:00 for 52 weeks of the year and closed over Christmas.

The Nursery is a large spacious building that is newly refurbished throughout and comprises of two levels. All children have access to a large outdoor area filled with rich learning experiences. Each room is set out into the different areas of learning, which enables each child to reach their full potential in achieving their next steps in their development in line with the EYFS Curriculum. All children have access to a large separate soft play area where they can play and explore in and around a ball pool and use soft play blocks to build and balance.

The positions will be working with all ages from 3 months to 5 years supporting staff by allowing the children to reach their full potential at all times and adhering to the children’s individual care routines as well as looking after key children of their own.

Your role will include:

  • Engaging with children in the different daily activities both inside and out
  • Providing quality care  for all children
  • Supporting staff on outings with children
  • Carrying out fun and engaging age appropriate activities
  • Supporting children during meal and snack times making sure children practice good hygiene
  • Observing children and following their development for all children’s profiles as well as your own key children
  • Carrying out meetings with children’s parents regarding their child’s progress
  • Helping and supporting children with self-independence and potty training
  • Changing children’s nappies and addressing their personal care routines
  • Supporting staff and the room leader in the daily running of the room
  • Ensuring standards are met in line with Ofsted and Safeguarding regulations
  • Liaising with parents and carers on a daily basis with feedback about their child’s play
  • Understanding the individual needs and dietary requirements of all children

All candidates must have:

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 years’ experience within a Nursery setting
  • The desire to develop their career
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
