A nursery situated in Wimbledon is looking for Nursery Practitioners to join their team. The nursery is operational 51 weeks a year and is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 - 18:30. They cater for up to 30 children and provide childcare for children aged 15 months to 5 years old.

The nursery is within one main room. It is open plan and is split into development areas with dividers in place to section off each area. The children are also encouraged to be independent and to make their own choices from a wide range of different activities to achieve their next steps towards school readiness.

Your role will include

  • Ensuring all the children reach the highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining  good relationships with children, parents and staffs
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Assisting and supporting other staff in the room
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Plan and provide effective care, teaching and learning that enables children to progress
  • Carrying out nappy changes & potty training
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedure throughout the setting
  • Assisting  children during meal time
  • Delivering rich learning opportunities and exceptional care that helps young children to develop


  Senior roles will include


  • Supporting other staff in the nursery with EYFS and assisting with any paperwork
  • Assisting the Management with daily duties
  • Supporting the other staff’s development
  • Carrying out risk assessments throughout the nursery
  • Reporting any relevant information to the Nursery Manager or Supervisor
  • Ensuring the ratios are adhered to at all times


All candidates must have:

  • Experience of working with 0-5 years olds
  • At least 1 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • The ability to work well within a team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Creativity and imagination
