Practitioners Experienced in Early Years needed near Richmond

StaffBank are recruiting on behalf of a new nursery near Richmond to find enthusiastic and motivated nursery practitioners to join their dedicated, fun and friendly team. As well as a competitive salary of £18-20,000 they have many other benefits including a uniform, 28 days holiday, company pension and much more.

This Nursery is looking for Level 2 and Level 3 Practitioners to join their team.  The setting is operational for 51 weeks of the year and is open Monday to Friday, from 7:30 -6:30 (40 hours a week) and caters for up to 75 children aged 3 months to 5 years. 

The Nursery is situated in a newly refurbished large detached house and is equipped with bespoke age-appropriate toys.  There are 3 rooms, a baby room, a toddler room and a pre-school room.  There is also a separate baby changing room, a separate milk kitchen and a cot room.  It has a large enclosed outdoor garden with a shaded area for babies and toddlers and they provide free-flow access.  The Setting is easily accessible as it is only 5 minutes away from the station and has great transport links.  It has a home-from-home atmosphere which allows the children to excel in all areas of development.  They follow the EYFS curriculum and positive relationships between parents and staff are encouraged at all times to ensure they maintain a positive co-operative environment for the best interests of the children.

You will need to ensure the children are given the opportunity to carry out child led activities throughout their routine and following the ‘foundation stage’ preparing them for their eventual move to school , fostering independence and helping the children reach their highest potential throughout their learning and development.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the setting  
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the Nursery policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s
  • Preparing the children for the move to school
  • Strong emphasis on the 3 main areas of learning
  • Encourage the children’s writing


All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 2 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • The ability to work within a large team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS/Foundation Stage
  • Great communication skills
