Job Description
Nursery situated in Addlestone is looking for a Room Leader to join their Toddler Room. The nursery is operational 51 weeks of the year, closed over the Christmas break. They are open Monday – Friday 7:30 – 18:30 and cater for 72 children aged between 3 months – 5 years old.
The nursery is situated within a converted building a short walk from Addlestone Station. It has three separate rooms one for each age group as well as a sensory room to develop their taste, sound and touch and soft play room allowing the children to challenge themselves by climbing, balancing and moving in different ways. There is a secure outdoor area which has a wide range of equipment to develop their physical skills and provides a stimulating environment to enhance all aspects of learning.
The position will be working with children aged 2-3 years old within the Toddler Room ensuring that the room is run to a high standard, leading the team, enabling them to observe the children to the best of their ability. You will be responsible for 4 key children and be in charge of ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment.

Your role will include:
- Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
- Providing high quality of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all the children
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with children and parents
- Supporting staff and engage in a positive staff team.
- Liaise with Manager/Deputy regarding the children
- Implementing the EYFS curriculum
- Providing exciting activities for all the children
- Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
- Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
- Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
- Completing risk assessments within the room, garden and on trips
- Attending and contributing in parent and staff meetings
- Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s
- Potty training and developing children’s hand eye coordination
All candidates must have:
- An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
- At least 1 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
- The ability to lead a large team
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
- Great communication skills
