Job Description

Outstanding nursery situated in Twickenham is looking for a Room Leader to join their Toddler room. The nursery is operational 51 weeks of the year and is closed for a week at Christmas. They are open Monday – Friday 07.30- 18.00 and cater for up to 44 children aged between 3 months – 5 years old.

The nursery is situated within a large building and has been awarded Outstanding by Ofsted and they ensure all the children consistently demonstrate high levels of independence and the setting ensures that they support all the children’s individual needs to help them to reach their highest potential throughout their learning and development.  

The Toddler room has two rooms allowing the nursery to provide activities which are designed for children’s developmental needs, they have a separate area for messy play, quiet activities and role play. The children regularly go on outings in the local community as well as having free flow access to their own secure outdoor area.

The position will be working with children aged 2-3 years old within the Toddler room and ensuring that the room is run to a high standard. You will be responsible for 6 key children and you will need to ensure that they have time to complete child led activities during the day as well as supporting and assisting the staff team with their activities and paprework.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Potty training and nappy changing
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the room
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Completing 2 year checks
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the surrounding areas
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s

 

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 2 years relevant experience as a Room Leader
  • The ability to lead a team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Great communication skills
  • The ability to work within a large team
