Job Description

Nursery is looking for a dedicated Room Leader to join their Pre-School room. The nursery is operational 51 weeks of the year and are open Monday-Friday 07:30-18:30 catering for 60 children aged between 0-5 years.

The nursery is purpose built and has 4 rooms. The rooms provides lots of age appropriate resources to stimulate their ever expanding minds, they also have a large garden which has various flooring, a planting area along with a variety of outdoor toys to enable the children to experience different environments.

The Position of Room Leader involves managing a team of Practitioners to ensure a high standard of Care and Education is delivered in line with the EYFS curriculum. The room caters for 20 children and you will be responsible for overseeing all the children’s records as well as being responsible for your own, up to 9 children. You will be required to work 40 hrs a week

Your role will include:

  • Providing high quality care for all children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children, parents and staff
  • Implementing the EYFS Curriculum, with focus on the Specific Area`s
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the room
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing daily risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s
  • Assisting and supporting the children at meal times
  • Preparing the children for the transition to school
  • Developing the Children’s writing and Listening Skills

 

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 years’ experience leading a team
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum & Safeguarding policies
  • Good verbal and written communication
