Are you an experienced Nursery Assistant Level 2 or Room Leader? Then look no further we have the job for you!

Registered childminders in East Dulwich looking for an ambitious and confident Room leader to join their friendly team. The setting operates for 52 weeks of the year and is open Monday to Friday 07:30-6:30 and caters for children aged 6 months to 5 years old and currently have 9 children on role.

The converted house is divided into two areas one specifically designed for children up to the age of 2 years old and another for children aged 2 years and above. The children have the freedom to explore through play and have free choice of all activities. All children have access to the outdoor area which is situated to the back of the Nursery where children can extend their learning and development by engaging in exploratory play.

They are currently looking for a self-motivated experienced Room Leader who have a real passion to work with children to join their growing team. You will be responsible for supporting staff by allowing the children to reach their full potential at all times and adhering to the children’s individual care routines as well as looking after key children of your own.

Your role will include:

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with all children, parents and staff
  • Providing quality care  for all children
  • Engaging children in activities both inside and out
  • Observing children and following their development for all children’s profiles as well as your key children
  • Supporting early walkers
  • Helping and supporting children with self-independence
  • Changing children’s nappies and addressing their personal care routines
  • Supporting children and parents during the weaning process
  • Carrying out meetings with parents regarding their child’s progress
  • Supporting other staff members with the daily running of the routine
  • Understanding the individual needs and dietary requirements of all
  • Supporting children during meal and snack times making sure children practice good hygiene
  • Assisting with the everyday running of the setting
  • Following the settings policies and procedures

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Education or Equivalent
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum and Safeguarding
  • Previous experience of working with children under 2 years old
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • The ability to work within a small team
