Job Description

Are you looking for a new challenge within the Early Years industry? An Outstanding Montessori nursery situated in Pinner is looking for a Room Leader and Nursery Practitioners to join their team with an amazing salary between £18,000 - £25,000 per annum depending on role and experience and will be contracted for 40 hours.

 

The nursery is operational all year around, and is open Monday to Friday from 08:00 - 18:00. They cater for up to 75 children and provide childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years old.

The setting offers separate rooms for different age groups which allows children to play and learn at their own pace. This allows them freedom to choose and time to discover their place in the world. The setting has 3 separate rooms, one room is from 3months to 15months old, where babies will enjoy plenty of time for discovery and a lot of sensory play, the second room is for up to 3 years old and this room will support them with developing language their language and begin shape and number recognition and the third room is for the pre-schoolers who are 3 to 5 years of age, they are encouraged to be independent and to make their own choices from a wide range of different activities in preparation for school.

The position will be working across all age groups to provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children in the setting. Your responsibility will ensure the children are developing in line with the EYFS curriculum and reaching their development milestones.

Your role will include

  • Ensuring all the children reach the highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for children within setting
  • Building and maintaining  good relationships with children, parents and staffs
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Having passion and enthusiasm for Montessori education
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Assisting and supporting other staff in the room
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Carrying out nappy changes & potty training
  • Promoting babies physical development and encourage crawling and walking
  • Setting up rooms 
  • Supporting babies during weaning process
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedure throughout the setting
  • Two year progress checks
  • Supporting children with their shapes and number recognition
  • Developing their writing skills and starting to write their own names
  • Encouraging and assisting to develop children’s speech 
  • Assisting children’s meal time

 

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent (Montessori Teacher)
  • Experience of working with 0-5 years olds
  • At least 1 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • The ability to work well within a team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS or Montessori knowledge 
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Creativity and imagination
