Senior Nursery Nurse in Early Years needed in Merstham

This Nursery is looking for a Nursery Nurse to work in the Baby Unit. The nursery is open for 51 weeks of the year, from Monday to Friday, from 08.00 -18.00 and caters for children aged 3 months to 5 years. The Nursery is situated in a large detached building and is equipped with age-appropriate toys. There are 4 play rooms and a very large enclosed outdoor garden with separate sandpit, mud kitchen, vegetable patch etc. The Setting is easily accessible and has great transport links. There are activities such as Sing & Sign, Mini-Chef Programme, Music & Movement and more.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Work with and cover the Room Leader
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum and leading planning meetings
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children, daily records/accident forms
  • Working effectively in a team, assisting and supporting other staff within the setting
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the Nursery policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Supporting children with additional needs and IEP’s
  • Being flexible within their role, supporting the setting where required, as well as contributing to domesticated chores within the setting

    All candidates must have:
  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 2 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • The ability to work within a large team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS/Foundation Stage
  • Great communication skills
