Toddler Room Leader needed in Tunbridge Wells

“Outstanding” Nursery is looking for a full time Room Leader to join their expanding team of Early Years professionals in Tunbridge Wells, they are operational 50 weeks of the year, 07:00 – 19:00, Monday – Friday and cater for up to 60 children aged between 3 months – 5 years.

The setting is situated within in a barn conversion and is surrounded by a woodland area, this is utilised to benefit the children to teach them about nature.  Age groups are divided into four rooms which all have a free flow access to an enclosed garden.

You role as Room Leader will be based in within the 1-2 years room and your responsibilities will include managing a team of five along with 18 children, ensuring that standards are of a high calibre in relation to the curriculum and the fundamental aspects of the room. You with your team will be responsible for delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage with a special focus on the Prime Areas of Leaning and ensuring the children’s transition from Babies into Toddlers is as smooth as possible

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the room
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Providing educational activities for all the children
  • Exercising a general duty of care for work colleagues and to be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment
  • Working alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the vision, philosophy and objectives of the nursery are fulfilled
  • Being an excellent role model to other members of staff
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings

 

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • The  desire to lead a team
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
