Job Description

This Nursery based in Winchmore, is open Monday – Friday 07:00 – 19:00 and it is open 51 weeks of the year, it caters for children aged from 2 to 5 years.

The setting is looking for an experienced passionate Vice Principle to lead the Nursery team alongside the Principle staring December 2019.  Your role will be leading and managing the Nursery setting, supporting the staff team in ensuring that all children to reach their full potential. You will be ensuring that the nursery setting is safe and secure in line with the Ofsted requirements.

Your role will include:

  • Managing and leading the Nursery team
  • Excellent Knowledge of EYFS, Ofsted, Children’s Act and statutory requirements
  • Excellent Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and staff team
  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential through play and learning
  • Supporting and supervising staff team
  • Providing CPD
  • Be able to work a part of a team
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships
  • Working with other professionals
  • Be able to build positive partnership with parents or guardians
  • Be available for parents or guardians at all times
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting and review them
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Have a positive attitude


All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
  • Experience as a Vice principle or in a similar role
  • At least 4 years relevant experience within an Early Years setting
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and statutory requirements.
  • Great communication skills
